We are delighted to be celebrating Real Bread Week 2020. This week Planet Leicester Bakers is featured on the Real Bread Campaign website. The focus this year is the many real bread bakers around the country who are using good bread to do good things. And I’m delighted that Planet Leicester Bakers has been asked to share the work being done here!
This isn’t the only news for this year’s celebration though.
And today, Tuesday 25th February, saw mention of Planet Leicester Bakers with a quote in the UK national broadsheet newspaper, The Telegraph. Tome Morrissy-Swan wrote about the therapeutic potential of bread making, interviewing a number of bakers, including Kitty Tait, pictured. Planet Leicester Bakers commented that unlike cake baking, a loaf of bread can come out of the oven looking ‘wonky’ and people and the baker will still be amazed and delighted by what has been produced, helping to build confidence.
In addition to this national and global coverage, the Bread Bike will this week see the introduction of loyalty cards for our growing, happy band of regular customers. So come on down to St Martin’s Square this Friday (28th) and pick one up. If you come by bike to the bike you get an extra stamp!
